Vitre is inspired by the rich artistry and intricate beauty of Byzantine mosaics. The Byzantine era is renowned for its luminous mosaic art, which adorned sacred spaces with vibrant color, meticulous detail, and symbolic storytelling. I was particularly drawn to the Hagia Sophia, whose mosaics exemplify craftsmanship, and spiritual resonance of this historic period.

This project explores the interplay of color, light, and texture found in mosaic glass, reimagined in a playful and tactile way through candy. By translating these timeless designs into a contemporary medium, Vitre celebrates both the technical mastery and the visual impact of Byzantine mosaics, creating a unique, wearable expression of this luminous art form.
